Description

Contact the Airmedic Operations Centre from anywhere in Quebec to secure emergency aeromedical services and transport (via plane or helicopter) quickly and easily.


The Airmedic iPhone app is free and includes everything required to communicate quickly an precisely your situation to the Airmedic emergency response teams and deploy emergency response teams to injured parties in a quick and targeted manner.

With the Airmedic app, you can perform the following functions and actions:

• Contact the Airmedic Operations Centre from anywhere in Quebec—if you’re connected to a cellular network, your location will automatically be transmitted to us once you activate the Alarm feature.
• Check for proper functioning of the Alarm and accurate transmission of your coordinates at any time using the Test feature.
• Transmit and determine your current coordinates, or those for any location on a map, in either of two different formats.
• Display your current location on a map.
• Make note of relevant information (e.g., accident location and details, landing conditions) that the Airmedic Operations Centre can use in the event of an emergency.
• Learn how to prepare and respond to a medical emergency, and the steps to take before the arrival of an Airmedic emergency response team.
• Choose from either the English or French versions.




Important Usage Information/Tips:



• Drag the Airmedic icon to the first page of your iPhone Home screen.

• Once your location and other information is transmitted, your phone will automatically be connected with the Airmedic Operations Centre. To prevent false alarms, rescue operations are launched only upon verbal or SMS confirmation.
• Immediately after installing the Airmedic app, open it, accept the Terms of Use and enter your personal data (iPhone number, first name, family name, etc.). This will save time if/when you need to activate the Alarm feature.
• Enable the Location Services feature in your phone’s settings.

• The Location Services feature requires a strong signal and clear reception (GPS, WLAN, mobile phone network).
• Regular use of the Location Services feature can help ensure that your current location is always displayed promptly and without delay.
• You can’t make mobile phone calls without a SIM card and service availability.
• If your SIM card is locked, you can call only the emergency number 9-1-1.

• When activating the Alarm feature, always do so outdoors for better signal transmission and reception.
• When contacting the Airmedic Operations Centre, shield your iPhone as much as possible from any wind or other harsh conditions.
• Requires iOS 5 or later.
